VinDependence Days - SCROLL DOWN TO PURCHASE PACKAGES
We are trying to make it simple for this Summer Berserker Day spectacular! 2 offers. One is a Pinot Noir that is only available because I screwed up during bottling and y’all get to benefit from that. The other is a pretty straight forward “Summer Wines” sort of package with a great discount to it all. Have fun with these. Best offers we could find and one is straight out, “Let’s hope I don’t do that again” sort of stuff.
Package #1: The OLYG (Our Loss is Your Gain) Package This package involves:
a) Some trust in Patricia Green Cellars’ integrity
b) A discount that is 57+% off the retail price of the wine
c) A little bit of gambling on your part! Who is not on board already without even knowing what I am talking about?!?
So, in the 30 vintages prior and I have never done this before. In late June we were bottling the 2024 Reserve. We had 6 tanks of it. We also had a few other wines in other tanks. On one day I switched the tank of Reserve we were finishing up to another tank of Reserve. We kept on bottling for about 15 minutes. Then, we realized that I had not hooked up to another tank of Reserve but to the 2024 La Belle Promenade Vineyard, Ghost Barn Block Pinot Noir tank. We immediately unhooked and got the hose on the right tank but, on our bottling line, we bottle around 240 cases/hour. The pallet we were working on had about 10 cases left on it when we realized our problem and switched over. The bowl on the bottling line holds around 10 cases of wine. When we bottled the Ghost Barn Pinot Noir we discovered we were basically exactly 1 pallet off of our expected amount of wine that the 13 barrels should have resulted in.
That means the one pallet we were working on is a essentially a pallet of La Belle Promenade Vineyard, Ghost Barn Block Pinot Noir labeled as Reserve Pinot Noir. The former sells for $75/bottle, the latter for $30/bottle. The gambling part comes in on your end that since this was all happening on the fly there are assuredly cases that are somewhat of a mix of the 2 wines and not just purely Ghost Barn Block or Reserve. However, the 2024 Reserve is so ridiculously loaded with high-end, old vine fruit it’s not that bad a situation even if you end up with some “blended in the bottling line” bottles!
6 bottles of Reserve Pinot Noir for $200
12 bottles of Reserve Pinot Noir for $360
The Deal: The wine is available by the six-pack or by the case. It is $200 for the 6-pack and $360 for the case. Shipping included. This has the history of Barrel #9 and the Quail Hollow bottlings for those of you that have been around a while. It comes with the extra slice of goodness in that this is a problem I brought on ourselves by not paying attention to what I was doing. You get to reap that benefit. This is a classic Patricia Green Cellars Berserker Day Deal!
Package #2 “I Know What You Did Last Summer” Not drink enough rosé and Sauvignon Blanc!!
For most of you, we are going to have to hold shipping until cooler temperatures prevail presumably in September (or maybe October depending on where you are). What do refreshing, crisp wines have to be allocated to a few summer months? That’s crazy. I drink rosé all year round. So, this package gives you the opportunity to extend your summer drinking habits into what are mostly the fall sort of months.
Case: 6 bottles each of the 2024 Willamette Valley Sauvignon Blanc and 6 bottles of the 2024 Helen Dusschee Freedom Hill Vineyard Tempranillo Rosé. For those of you that opted for some of the 2023 version of the rosé let me say this version is clearly superior. Still really learning the rosé making thing and experience shows with the 2024 version. The 2024 Willamette Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a beautifully crisp and zingy white filled with all the things that make Sauvignon Blanc terrific and none of the things that turn people off from it.
The Rosé sells for $29 and the Sauvignon Blanc $28 so a case of this would normally run a little over $290 with our standard case discount. Berserker Day price, shipping included, $240! That is a 30% overall discount (and far more than that when shipping is factored in) on two awesome wines that are perfect for summer and post-summer drinking.
Half-Case: 3 each of the 2024 Willamette Valley Sauvignon Blanc and the 2024 Helen Dusschee Freedom Hill Vineyard Tempranillo Rosé. $135.
