Tastings by Appointment
- 7 days a week -
All tastings are by appointment, the tasting fee is $40 per person, which includes a flight of 5-7 wines with a small cheese pairing. The tasting fee will be waived for purchases of 6+ bottles per person. We attempt to accommodate all tasting requests, however appointments are not considered ‘booked’ until receipt of confirmation email. While we do host many of our tastings privately, smaller groups may be combined.
Due to the size of our tasting area, we cannot accommodate guests with children or non-service animals present. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we want to create an atmosphere that is safe, enjoyable and comfortable for all our guests.
While we are not permitted for picnicking, we are happy to provide a list of neighbors with picnic facilities.
We have two Semi-Private Tasting options
(depending on the time of year):
Option #1 (Year-Round):
You will taste through 5+different current vintage Pinot Noirs and our Sauvignon Blanc (until sold out) with a small cheese pairing to accompany the wines. The tastings will include in-depth factual information about the terroir, including specific site and clones that make up each distinct wine. Our specialty is showcasing site and place; being able to compare the same clones from different sites, the same site with different clones, all of which makes for a very exciting and educational tasting!
**Tastings are $40/person, waived with a 6 bottle purchase per person.
Option #2 (May 1st - June, 30th 2019):
This option is only available during our Futures sales months of May and June. We are unable to accommodate requests outside of this window due to our bottling schedule.
You will taste current vintage tasting and 2018 barrels. In this tasting you get the experience of going through individual barrels with the winemaker (if they are available) and experience the breadth of our vineyards and the nuances between and within them that make Patricia Green Cellars’ wines interesting and compelling. Depending on your stamina, you can go through a swath of the cellar that would include the top, small-lot wines that can be purchased as futures. Barrel tasting showcases the overall concept of terroir within specific appellations such as Ribbon Ridge, Dundee Hills or Chehalem Mountains. Each AVA and terroir can be drilled down to small blocks within specific vineyard sites from some of the greatest Pinot Noir vineyards in North America.
You will get insight not only into the 'where' of the wines, but the 'how' of the winemaking process in a very personal way; including, discussions regarding when to pick fruit, how to ferment and considering the specific nature of each vineyard. The winemaking team at Patricia Green Cellars has over 50 combined years of experience making Pinot Noir in Oregon and are more dedicated to the expression of site as the way to make Pinot Noir than any other winery (at least based on the sheer number of Pinot Noirs produced).
If you are a long-time Pinot Noir lover with experience with wines from Burgundy and the United States this tasting will take you through great wines. The subtext to the whole experience will likely be one that is both familiar and incredibly surprising at the same time. If you are learning about Pinot Noir and beginning to fall for its considerable charms and presence, this should prove to be informative and inspirational.
**Current Vintage and Barrel Tasting is $60/person waived with a 12 bottle purchase (per person).
Advanced tasting appointments are required as space is limited. All cancellations for tastings must be made 24hrs in advance. Tasting requests are not considered ‘booked’ until receipt of confirmation email. There is no tasting fee for Wine Club Members.
